National Park of American Samoa · American Samoa
The only U.S. national park south of the equator, American Samoa protects rainforest, coral reefs, and white-sand beaches across several islands, along with Samoan culture that is still very much alive. The visitor center in Pago Pago on Tutuila is the place to start for maps, trail advice, and Junior Ranger materials. Families can look for flying foxes (fruit bats) along rainforest trails and enjoy calm beaches; it is remote, so plan flights and lodging well ahead.
Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official National Park of American Samoa website before you go.
