Channel Islands National Park · California
Channel Islands National Park is five islands off the Southern California coast, home to plants and animals found nowhere else, like the little island fox. Start at the visitor center in Ventura Harbor for exhibits and tide pool displays, then consider a boat trip to Santa Cruz Island for hiking, kayaking, and wildlife watching. There are no stores or services on the islands, so families need to pack all food and water.
Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Channel Islands National Park website before you go.
