Death Valley National Park · California · Nevada
Death Valley is a land of extremes, with the lowest point in North America at Badwater Basin, colorful badlands, sand dunes, and snowcapped peaks in winter. Kid-friendly stops include the salt flats at Badwater, Zabriskie Point, and the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, and the Furnace Creek Visitor Center has exhibits and Junior Ranger books. Visit between fall and spring; summer heat here is dangerous.
Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Death Valley National Park website before you go.
