Isle Royale National Park · Michigan

Isle Royale is a wild island in Lake Superior, reached only by ferry or seaplane, and it is closed in winter. Families can base themselves at Rock Harbor, take short hikes along the rocky shore, and learn about the island's moose and wolves from rangers. Some ferries allow day trips, but most visitors stay at least a night or two; plan transportation well ahead.

Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Isle Royale National Park website before you go.
