Rocky Mountain National Park · Colorado
Rocky Mountain has alpine lakes, wildflower meadows, and peaks above treeline, plus more than 300 miles of trails and great wildlife viewing. Families enjoy the short loop around Bear Lake, watching elk in the meadows, and driving Trail Ridge Road (open in summer and early fall) up to the Alpine Visitor Center. Timed entry reservations are often required in the busy season, so check nps.gov before you go.
Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Rocky Mountain National Park website before you go.
