Shenandoah National Park · Virginia
Shenandoah runs along the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, with Skyline Drive winding past overlooks, waterfalls, and wildflower meadows. Families can stop at the Byrd Visitor Center at Big Meadows, watch for deer and black bears, and take short trails with big views. Overlooks are everywhere, so it is easy to break the drive into kid-sized stops.
Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Shenandoah National Park website before you go.
