Theodore Roosevelt National Park · North Dakota
Theodore Roosevelt protects the colorful North Dakota badlands where a young Theodore Roosevelt ranched in the 1880s. Families can watch bison and prairie dogs from the scenic drive in the South Unit near Medora and peek into Roosevelt's Maltese Cross Cabin behind the South Unit Visitor Center. The quieter North Unit has its own scenic drive and overlooks; check nps.gov for current road status.
Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Theodore Roosevelt National Park website before you go.
