Andersonville National Historic Site · Georgia

Nearly 13,000 men died on these grounds, a site that became infamous even before the Civil War ended. Their burial grounds became Andersonville National Cemetery, where veterans continue to be buried today. Families can start at the visitor center for maps, exhibits, and Junior Ranger materials; always check nps.gov for current hours and conditions before you go.

Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Andersonville National Historic Site website before you go.
