Bryce Canyon National Park · Utah
Bryce Canyon holds the largest collection of hoodoos (tall, skinny rock spires) on Earth, glowing orange and pink along a high plateau. The Rim Trail between Sunrise and Sunset Points is a fairly level walk with big views, and a seasonal shuttle helps with parking. The park sits at 8,000 to 9,000 feet, so it can be chilly even in summer, and its dark skies make ranger astronomy programs a family favorite.
Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Bryce Canyon National Park website before you go.
