Canyonlands National Park · Utah

Canyonlands is a wilderness of canyons, mesas, and spires carved by the Colorado and Green Rivers, split into districts that are not connected by roads. For families, the Island in the Sky district is the easiest place to start, with paved overlooks, a visitor center, and the short walk to Mesa Arch. Services inside the park are very limited, so bring water, food, and a full tank of gas.

Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Canyonlands National Park website before you go.
