Capitol Reef National Park · Utah

Capitol Reef protects the Waterpocket Fold, a nearly 100-mile wrinkle in the earth full of cliffs, domes, and natural bridges. In the historic Fruita area, families can wander orchards (with fruit picking in season), see the Gifford Homestead, and view petroglyphs from a boardwalk along Highway 24. The visitor center and the Scenic Drive make an easy half-day introduction to red-rock country.

Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Capitol Reef National Park website before you go.
