Gateway Arch National Park · Missouri
Gateway Arch National Park in downtown St. Louis tells the story of westward expansion, and the 630-foot Arch is the tallest human-made monument in the United States. Kids love the tram ride to the top (buy tickets ahead), and the free museum beneath the Arch is hands-on and easy to explore. The historic Old Courthouse nearby is where Dred and Harriet Scott sued for their freedom.
Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Gateway Arch National Park website before you go.
