Grand Canyon National Park · Arizona

Grand Canyon is a mile deep and 277 river miles long, and the views from the rim are unforgettable for every age. On the South Rim, which is open year-round, families can walk paved stretches of the Rim Trail, use the free shuttle buses, and start at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center near Mather Point. Hiking down into the canyon is much harder than coming back up, so keep any walks below the rim short with kids, and check nps.gov for current conditions and North Rim status.

Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Grand Canyon National Park website before you go.
