Kobuk Valley National Park · Alaska
Kobuk Valley lies north of the Arctic Circle and is home to the Great Kobuk Sand Dunes and to caribou herds that migrate through each year. There are no roads; visitors arrive by small plane, usually from Kotzebue. For families, the Northwest Arctic Heritage Center in Kotzebue is the easiest way to learn about the park and the people who have lived here for thousands of years.
Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Kobuk Valley National Park website before you go.
