Wrangell–St. Elias National Park · Alaska

Wrangell–St. Elias is the largest national park in the country, rising from the ocean to over 18,000 feet, with mountains, glaciers, and historic mining towns. For families, the visitor center in Copper Center is the easiest stop, with exhibits and short trails, and the historic Kennecott mill town is reached by a long gravel road and footbridge. Plan carefully, since services are few and distances are long.

Hours, roads, and programs change with the seasons. Check current conditions on the official Wrangell–St. Elias National Park website before you go.
